The night before I spoke at our church Women's Brunch last weekend my mom called and asked me how I was and if I needed anything. I replied, "Well, maybe a pair of shoes?" I felt kind of silly until the next day at the brunch, one of my mom's friends told me about a saying she saw printed on one of those embroidered pillows, a quote from Cinderella, that said, "One shoe can make all the difference." How funny--how true--how sad!! But clever, too.
