Some of you may remember this picture from our vacation last summer; this is Eric at the airport with all of the bags and strollers and baby gear we took with us! Insane. I know this is very, very late, but I took SO many pictures on this trip that it's taken me this long to go through and weed out the good ones, and then decide which ones of those to post (if I even posted any at all!)...hence, the reason this is almost nine months behind! I may comment here and there, but for the most part I'm just going to post them in bunches so feel free to skip viewing them entirely or just scan through and get a glimpse of our trip. We had a wonderful time visiting friends and family as well as doing some hiking in the mountains; we hope you enjoy some views of beautiful Colorado (we lived here every summer when I was little, for those of you who didn't know that...kind of like our second home)!
My friend Rebeca (from high school) and her son Joshua; we visited their family in Colorado Springs, where Eric and I have considered living someday, and they took us on a day hike just outside town...definitely a factor to consider when choosing a place to live: close proximity to mountainous recreation!
View of Colorado Springs from the top of our hike.
Jack was sick for the first part of our trip and was just miserable and grumpy, looking like this for the first 3-4 days at least. Poor baby!
Cutie pie Joshua; he and Jack played in the dust during our picnic lunch and got very dirty!

Annika, I am really needing your e-mail, chickie!
I've had a new email address for awhile and lost all my old contacts. I need to talk to you about something and I don't want to put it in comments. (worry not; nothing bad!)
Can you drop me a line?

Godspeed,
Liz
(went to school with Eric, in case it's been so long you forgot me ;)
What a beautiful, beautiful place!! I would have LOVED to have been there taking pictures with you! :) GORGEOUS. Looks like great memories.
Oh, I miss the Rockies! One of my older sisters lived in Colorado Springs for a while, and then in Denver for a while, and we visited several times.
I second your sentiment about moving to Colorado Springs!
Annika-- I don't see my 1st comment, so I wanted to make sure you'd gotten my request for your e-mail...? I am so sorry to be such a PEST, but it's kind of important. (Nothing, bad- good "important" ;)
Anyway, after all the Colorado entries loaded, I found myself (for the VERY first time since 1994, the first and only time I went there and suffered altitude sickness so bad I'd have rather had pneumonia) wishing I could go there and experience the mountain coolness and scenery that bears God's majestic fingerprints all over it.
What is so amazing to me is that I remember well when you described the trip- the sad truth was that you did not get a whole lot of chances for enjoyment during that first part when poor little Jack was so ill. But you'd never know it looking at these photos; you have such a talent in the realm of photography- you really do. You and Marika both seem to just have a gilded touch with that Nikon. (or whatever brand it is that you use to capture all those amazing dimples, chubby fingers, gap-toothed grins, and the many firsts of early childhood)
I have to say it again...you are a total star. Here you are practically seconds away from giving birth and what does this usually chaotic time find you doing? Preserving memories for your children and allowing the rest of us one of those wonderful glimpses into your life where despite your honest and forthright tales of middle-of-the-night vomiting, picky eaters, and the all-consuming-ness of motherhood-- we still find ourselves jealous of you for how well you handle it all!
A STAR, I say!
I know you are so, so busy but I just need your e-mail- you don't even have to type anything; just send me something blank to elizabeth_adkisson@eml.cc
Thanks, Anka :) The photos, as always, are outstanding.
