Isn't she a cutie? My sister Marika came to visit this past weekend and brought my beautiful, smiling 3-month-old niece, Mikaila, with her. We had a great time seeing them again; Jack was much better with the baby this time around--even started to say "Ba-ba" when he was around her. He would sit in his carseat and just watch her, sitting next to him in her seat...gave me a little more hope about baby sister's impending arrival! He also kissed her numerous times--unfortunately we never got it on camera!
Last Saturday we all went downtown for the Jazz Festival at Grant Park, complete with a picnic dinner--Chicago, deep-dish pizza! (A Whitaker family tradition) Unfortunately, my mom was really sick that day and wasn't able to join us; thus her absence from the pictures here. But we missed her!!!

Look at that grin!

One of our favorites...how sweet is this picture??

Jack and my sunglasses...the affair continues

(All of us trying to figure out how to use my sister's mother-in-law's camera...the "best" Nikon out there--i.e. making our nice D-50 look wimpy!)

Jack thinks he knows how to fix it...

Listening to the music...

Dancing to the music...

He started to RUN around Eric...

..still running...

...and then squealing with laughter as Eric reached out and grabbed at him--we had people all around turning to watch him because his laughter was so loud, but still just the sweetest sound.

(It's getting close to bedtime for one worn-out little boy)

Earlier that day
