Seventeen Months

Jack and I met Eric for dinner at the College last week; after we ate Jack spent some time running around the plaza in front of the dining hall, much to the college students' delight. I got a little trigger-happy with my Nikon...but some great 17-month-old pictures were the result.

Trying on Daddy's bike helmet

He reminds me of one of the aliens from Independence Day...

These pictures are from the tantrum of the century. He was trying desperately to get these oven mitts on his arms...but for the life of him, he could not get them ON. He tried many tactics, but they kept falling off as soon as his arms hung down. He got so very upset and ended up on the floor, kicking and screaming, all because those darn oven mitts wouldn't stay on!!

Almost, but they would fall off as soon as he tried to stand up...

Victory!! (Although I think he's still crying here)

Ah. This is the genius of my son. Do you know what this is? Any guesses? Well, to the untrained eye, it appears to be one of Mommy's nice candle holders, a plastic orange (yes, the fruit), and one of the plastic crib rail protectors from his crib. See if you can figure out what he is using them for...

(He took a time out to try the orange)

While his form is not yet perfected, this is, in fact, his own version of T-ball! He loves to set these items up, and "swing" away...although his swings are more like destructive verticle swats at the moment. Nonetheless, the "ball" still goes flying, followed by an excited, "Oooooooh!" from Jack. Isn't he smart? :) Posted by Picasa

Jack came up with that T ball idea? What a genius you have! I think i'll teach that one to Andrew. The oven mitt tantrum...he's not even two yet:) It's fun to see pics of our house as your house!
